2021 Trimble County Cross Country Backwoods Invitational-
Looking for fewer crowds, excellent competition and a truly exciting course?
Coaches, we invite you to bring your teams out to the 2021 edition of our Backwoods Invitational. We work hard to run one of the best meets in the state and take no shortcuts when it comes to meet quality. This is a perfect season opener for those teams looking for a challenging, well run, true cross country course. We are offering a 2K, 3K and 5K race this year.
When: Saturday August 21, 2021
Where: Trimble County Park, 3114 US HIghway 421 N, Bedford KY 40006
Boys Varsity 5K: 8:00am
Girl's Varsity 5K: 8:45am
Boy's Elementary (4th and 5th) 2K: 10:30am
Boy's Elementary (3rd and below) 2K: 11:30pm
Girl's Elementary (3rd and below) 2K: 12:00pm
Medals will be handed out to the top 5 as they cross the finish line. The top 5 runners in each race and the top team overall will get an award. The winning team can pick up the trophy after the race.
Course: The course we have at the Trimble County Park is a true cross country course. We have flat grass sections, hills, a small creek crossing, and a long woods section offering heavy shade. Races start on the youth football field. In the 3K, after a 400-yard section on the fields, the course heads through the woods as it makes its way to the back of the park. 5K runners follow the 3K course completing a run along the ball fields, with the extra distance coming from a trail in the northern section of the woods. The 2K will involve flats, hills and a woodland trail section also. This course is very well marked and we will have numerous spotters on the course for safety.
Our course is spectator friendly allowing parents and coaches to see about 2/3 of the race.
Entry: All entries will be done on Ky-Milesplit online registration on the meet page.
Max of 10 runners per team per race- you can enter multiple teams in every race EXCEPT the Varsity races. Runners may only compete in 1 race.

Packet Pickup will be located at the building by the football field. We will also be selling shirts here.
Parking: We will have people directing cars into parking spots. The park has 3 gates, Gate 2 will be entry only. Gate 3 is exit only, gate 1 is closed since the course crosses there. PARKING/ADMISSION IS $5 PER CAR.
We will have emergency water at the finish to create a quick exit due to covid.
